Will didn’t actually start off his musical journey as a songwriter... “I’ve been playing guitar since I was tiny, the master plan then was to play for a band and leave most of the leg work to the front person to be honest! It wasn’t until I was 17 I started writing my own songs, and realised how much I’d really love to connect with people through my own music.”

His influences have been widespread, and you’ll really hear that in the upcoming record. “I grew up listening to loads of jazz, I think Martin Taylor was the guy who made me really want to pick up music in the first place. Then it was George Benson and Eric Clapton who showed a teenage me that you can do the guitar thing and the singer/songwriter thing at the same time, which was a bit of a game changer. These days I’m really digging Theo Katzman, Eloise and Madison Cunningham.”

Will really believes in the power of music. “I learnt this when I used to busk all the time - even a cheesy old pop song can light someone’s face up in an instant! I felt ready to give songs to the world once I realised it’ll never have enough.”
